This privacy notice explains how RIN handles information in connection with rinindex.com.
Information you provide
If you contact RIN by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message. We use it to review and respond to your inquiry.
Technical information
The website and its hosting or security providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver, protect, and maintain the site.
Affiliate links
Some RIN pages contain affiliate links. If you follow an affiliate link, the destination website or its affiliate provider may receive technical information normally sent with a web request and may handle information under its own privacy practices. RIN may earn a commission if an eligible purchase or signup is attributed to one of these links, at no additional cost to you.
Analytics and consent
RIN uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only after you choose Accept analytics in the analytics preference notice. Before you consent, RIN does not load the Google Analytics tag and does not send analytics data to Google.
When analytics is enabled, GA4 may process information such as the page or page path viewed, browser and device information, approximate geographic information, and interactions with the site. RIN configures its GA4 integration with advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization denied, and disables Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals in the site configuration.
RIN also records a custom rin_product_click event when a supported product call-to-action is clicked. That event is limited to the product label, whether the link is an affiliate or official link, and the page path. RIN does not intentionally include the destination URL, affiliate identifier, article body, email address, or message content in this custom event.
RIN stores a first-party preference cookie named rin_analytics_consent solely to remember your analytics choice for up to 180 days. If you consent, Google Analytics may set analytics cookies such as _ga. You can reject analytics or change your choice later using the Analytics preferences control on the site.
Google handles information it receives under its own privacy practices. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated if the site’s analytics, cookies, affiliate relationships, or other information practices change.
Your choices
You may use the site’s analytics preference control to accept or reject optional analytics. You may also contact RIN to ask a privacy question or request appropriate action concerning information you have provided. Applicable rights depend on your location.
